The GDPR regulations (Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679) were implemented on 25th May 2018 and place requirements and responsibilities for all businesses.
The regulations apply to ‘personal data’ which is defined as any information that directly or indirectly identifies an individual e.g. names, address, age, any medical conditions, medication, previous treatments / surgeries etc.
Galway Aesthetic Nurse Ltd is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us.
Managing Your Information
- We retain your information securely.
- We will only ask for and keep information that is necessary. We will attempt to keep it as accurate and up to-date as possible. We will explain the need for any information we ask for if you are not sure why it is needed.
- We ask you to inform us about any relevant changes that we should know about. This would include such things as any new treatments being carried out that we are not aware of. Please also inform us of change of address and phone numbers.
- All persons in the clinic (not already covered by a professional confidentiality code) sign a confidentiality agreement that explicitly makes clear their duties in relation to personal health information and the consequences of breaching that duty.
Sharing your personal data
Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential and will not be shared with any third party.
How long do we keep your personal data?
We will keep information for a reasonable amount of time in order to perform the purposes listed above.
We only keep your information for as long as necessary. We generally keep personal information for 7 years after last contact with you. However, Galway Aesthetic Nurse Ltd reserves the right to keep information for longer if we feel that this is in the legitimate interests of Galway Aesthetic Nurse Ltd.
Providing us with your personal data
You are under no statutory or contractual requirement or obligation to provide us with your personal data, but failure to do so will create an inability or severe restriction in providing you with treatments.
The personal information you provide will be treated in the strictest confidence.
